Star Wars Saga*
On 25th
April 2014 Lucasfilm relaunched their storytelling
canonical structure. In many ways this was a "reboot",
starting afresh with just the six live-action films and
The Clone Wars film and TV series. Now all new stories would belong to a Star Wars universe
where each story, regardless of medium or publisher, would
be based on a canonical source. *Without an official
term forthcoming from Lucasfim, and known by various terms
including "new canon", "Disney canon" and "Storygroup
canon", Star Wars Books & Comics
has termed this the "Star Wars Saga".

artists have expanded the universe created by George Lucas
that allowed readers to enjoy stories set anywhere between
25,000 years before to 140 years after the films. On 25th
April 2014 Lucasfilm announced that in order to create a
unified story-telling approach beginning with Star
Wars Rebels and Episode VII, all Expanded Universe
stories had been reclassified as Star Wars Legends.

The Star Wars
The Star Wars is a comic book adaptation of
George Lucas' 1974 rough draft script by J.W. Rinzler
with art by Mike Mayhew. It will be published in
8-issues by Dark Horse Comics between September 2013 and
May 2014. In many ways this is the Star Wars that
could have been. It features many characters that we
have come to love (and hate) even if their appearances
and roles seem somewhat different. In essence, The
Star Wars is both familiar and yet strange at the
sametime.

Star
Wars Audio Books
Why read a book when you can listen to one?
Audio adaptations of Star Wars stories have
existed since Brian Daley's radio dramatisation of
Star Wars was first broadcast on US
National Public Radio in 1981. Since then many
major stories, particularly novels, have been
adapted for audio either as a dramatisation that
continues in the same vein as Daley's work story
such as Dark
Empire and Dark
Lords of the Sith; or as an audio recording of
an abridged reading of a novel (sometimes with
added sound effects and background music).

Star
Wars e-Comics (Dark Horse Digital)
In May 2009 Dark Horse Comics, official
publisher of Star Wars comics since 1991, launched
Dark Horse Mobile (licensed to THQ), the
name for their e-Comics App for the Apple iPhone
and iPod Touch. The Apps were digital
representations of graphic novels and over the
next 2 years a total of just eleven Star Wars
comic stories were made available as Apps.
In 2011 THQ's license expired and Dark Horse
Comics launched their own in-house digital comics
store Dark Horse Digital. Unlike THQ's Apps, Dark
Horse Digital allows customers to purchase
individual comic book issues in a digital format
and is compatible with modern web browsers, Apple
iOS systems and Android systems.
