[Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi]
A Guide to Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi comic book series.

Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi is a comic book series published by Dark Horse Comics between 1993 and 1998 that covers eight story arcs spanning more than a millennia on the Star Wars timeline. Beginning some five thousand years before Palpatine, Vader, Luke and Leia, it chronicles the galatic wars between the ancient Sith and the Jedi of The Old Republic.
The first published story arc, Ulic Qel-Droma and the Beast Wars of Onderon, was written by Tom Veitch and was part of the series of stories that eventually became known as Knights of the Old Republic (not to be confused with the videogame or comic book series of the same name). Veitch went on to write the next two story arcs: The Saga of Nomi Sunrider and The Freedon Nadd Uprising; and co-authored the fourth story arc, Dark Lords of the Sith, with Kevin J. Anderson. Anderson went on to write the last four story arcs: The Sith War , The Golden Age of the Sith, The Fall of the Sith War and Redemption. In 2007/8 all eight story arcs were collected into two Omnibus editions.

Published comic stories (in chronlogical order):

[Tales of the Jedi: Golden Age of the Sith]

The Golden Age of the Sith
by Kevin J. Anderson et al.

This story occurs approximately 5,000 years before the Battle of Yavin.
Marka Ragnos ruled the galaxy with an iron fist. He was the Dark Lord of the Sith - the most powerful of the most powerful. But now he is dead. And two innocent hyperspace explorers, Gav and Jori Daragon, may follow suit if they get caught between the factions fighting to fill the Dark Lord void.

[Tales of the Jedi: The Fall of the Sith Empire]

The Fall of the Sith Empire
by Kevin J. Anderson et al.

This story occurs approximately 5,000 years before the Battle of Yavin.
The Sith Empire has rallied its forces for an all-out battle for control of the galaxy. Its goal: Crush the Republic. And with so many Sith Masters among them, the goal is not unachievable. As Naga Sadow readies his fleet to attack, one lone person threatens to undermine the entire campaign -- Jori Daragon. She isn't a Jedi. She's an explorer, a mapper of hyperspace who stumbled on the plans of the Sith. And she just may be the savior of the Republic.

[Tales of the Jedi: Knights of the Old Republic]

Knights of the Old Republic
by Tom Veitch et al.

This story occurs approximately 4,000 years before the Battle of Yavin.
Ulic Qel-Droma and Nomi Sunrider are two young novices training to become Jedi warriors. Their training, however, turns into a trial by fire when they prematurely have to face off against reigning crimelord Great Bogga, a Hutt who has killed one of the universe's most powerful Jedi Knights.

Freedon Nadd is dead, but his dark spirit lives on, and it has been used to abduct Jedi Master Arca! Nomi Sunrider and Ulic Qel-Droma lead the mission to free their Master, but not before the evil King Ommin spreads the seeds of Sith evil to a new generation.

[Tales of the Jedi: The Sith War]

The Sith War
by Kevin J. Anderson et al.

This story occurs approximately 3,996 years before the Battle of Yavin.
Ulic Qel-Droma has spent a lifetime learning to control the Force. He wanted to be on the side of the good, a member of the Jedi elite. [Tales of the Jedi: Redemption]

Redemption
by Kevin J. Anderson et al.

This story occurs approximately 3,986 years before the Battle of Yavin.
Ulic Qel-Droma has been stripped of his Force powers and has isolated himself in a distant corner of the galaxy, trying to escape from a life he would rather forget. But his past is about to catch up with him as he is tracked down by Vima, the daughter of Nomi Sunrider, the woman who blinded Ulic to the Force. Vima seeks a teacher and Ulic sees in her a chance at redemption.
