Book News: New synopsis blurb for Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor:
Posted: 19th November
NJOE.com have posted a synopsis blurb for the forth- coming Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor by the Science-Fiction Book Club: "The classic Star Wars heroes return in an explosive new stand-alone adventure that reveals the never-before-told story behind the Battle of Mindor, one of the fiercest conflicts of the Galactic Civil War. In Star Wars: Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor, a whirlwind struggle, Machiavellian plotting, deadly stormtroopers and the power of the Force collide as young Luke Skywalker realizes the path his life must take: to revive the Jedi Order to protect the galaxy from evil.
Victory has been achieved—the Galactic Empire, along with the evil Emperor Palpatine and the Dark Lord, Darth Vader, is dead. But with barely a hundred Jedi Masters surviving to defend the fledgling New Republic, ruthless remnants of the old Empire are free to hack away at the galaxy’s newfound peace and security—and the most dangerous of these are the Sith warlord Shadowspawn and his army of Black Stormtroopers.
When Luke, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, C-3P0, R2-D2, Lando Calrissian and the pilots of Rogue Squadron are lured to Mindor to face this cunning new enemy, they don’t realize that the entire battle is a trap: a diabolical attempt to crush the upstarts and restore the Empire…with Shadowspawn at the helm.
Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor is due for release on 30th December (US), in the New Year (UK).

When asked on StarWars.com Boards "Will you guys consider doing something with Del Rey/Dark Horse so that us unfortunate souls that don't play MMO's don't miss out on the epic story?", Sue replied: "Yes, this is part of the plan. A novel will come out sometime around the game release time and that's all that's been determined so far. I'll let you know as things develop".
Although there is no definite release date for Star Wars: The Old Republic, we can expect both game and novel probably early 2009.
