For the better part of a year, ex-Corsec agent Corran Horn has been hiding out on Garqi from the wrath of Imperial Kirtan Loor. Now he is stuck because a group of students have begun rebel activities against the local Imperials and the torpedoes a Captain Lai Nootka promised him have been impounded along with Nootka. One student who has been trailing his X-Wing - Dynba Tesc - is now in interrogation, and Prefect Mosh Barris is well aware that Kirtan Loor is being sent to investigate him - hence, he plans to use the public execution of young Dynba to force any Rebels out of hiding. That is, he will allow an aide of his to smuggle her out and get her and the Rebels together on a ship that they will destroy as a public warning...

This story occurs approximately 6 years after the Battle of Yavin.
